To disconnect the gas regulator from the cylinder turn OFF the lever dismount by horizontally pressing the push button and pulling off the regulator vertically.
Gas regulator (Gas safety device) and hoses should be routinely inspected or tested and replaced in case of faulty or damaged to avoid potential safety hazards when using gas equipment. However, it is recommended to replace gas hoses every 2 years and gas regulators every 5 years before the gas regulator and hose expiry date.
The maximum length of hose can be 3 meters long.
IGT safety device automatically detects the gas leakage and shuts off the gas flow to the appliance. It helps in leakage detection and indicates when to refill the cylinder and provides leak-tight connection and seals minor leaks from the cylinder valve and Facilitates clean LPG to the appliances.
- The gas appliance should be shut off, once the regulator is connected to it through a gas hose.
- Make sure the regulator is attached in the correct and switched to the “ON” position on the gas cylinder valve.
- The dial of the indicator should then go into the green area.
- The Regulator switch is moved back to the “OFF’’ position. The dial of the indicator should then remain in the green area and the user should wait for 5 mins
- If the dial is still in the same green area the installation is safe without leaks but If the dial has moved to yellow or blue color, the installation is not safe and should be checked by leak detection spray.
- Any leak should be eliminated before the use of the appliance.
Our Gas Safety Regulators provide special safety features to meet certain safety standards.

IGT gas regulators have many advantages apart from facilitating safety. It controls the excess flow valve and saves from utilizing excess gas. Its advanced lock system is made up of metal bodies, eventually saving it from getting burnt. It will provide exact gas pressure. The colors demonstrated at the meter gauge are easy to understand.
The IGT safety device provides complete information about the amount of gas present in the cylinder. The design is formulated to diagnose any leakage or damage which may result in a blast. We provide first-hand safety to the customers. After fixing the device turn the knob to the right. It will guarantee easy gas flow in the pipe. When the pipe is filled with gas it will show the total gas present in it. The needle on the meter gauge will start moving and when the needle stops at the point it will indicate the level of the gas present in it.
Several questions come in our mind when choosing a gas regulator and kind of gas regulator to be used for BBQ, propane tank, etc. Here at IGT, we aim to make it as easy as possible for our customers to find the exact regulator they are looking for.
- IGT offers several low-pressure regulators including Propane regulators, Handwheel Propane regulators, and Camping Gas regulators. We also offer high-pressure regulators for certain appliances that require a larger operating pressure and capacity.
- The first thing we need to decide is which gas cylinder we will be using. However, we can advise depending on the appliance and set-up and would suggest talking to a gas cylinder supplier or a gas registered engineer first, if you are unsure.
- If you are purchasing a BBQ Regulator, you can also seek advice from the store. Once you plan to purchase Butane or a Propane regulator, the next step is to decide which regulator to purchase in this range.
Many people have this doubt while choosing the right regulator; here you will get a clear idea about how to select a regulator. For Eg: a brass regulator cannot be used in corrosive gas serviceThe time duration gas used helps to identify if a single-stage or two-stage regulator provides the best service.
- A single-stage regulator performs well for short duration gas usage.
- A two-stage gas regulator performs best when attached to the cylinder and adjusted to the desired low pressure, and then remains in service unless the cylinder is ready for replacement.
- The propane gas regulator is considered to be one of the most important parts of a propane gas system. LPG (propane) gas regulators control the gas flow and lower the LPG pressure delivered to the gas appliances from the gas bottles.
- Gas regulators automatically modulate high-pressure gas to a maximum predetermined limit.
- The pressure inside a gas bottle can be 800-900kPa vs the 2.75kPa which is typically needed
- The regulator acts as a safety barrier between the high pressure of the tank and the end-use appliance(s).
- LPG gas regulators are usually factory pre-set to the standard operating pressure for the appliances.
- A manometer measures the physical pressure of a medium. For LPG systems, you can only conclude, the contents of the bottle from the gauge display in a single case.
- You have opened the gas cylinder valve. In any case, the needle of the pressure gauge stops at Blue to be considered a clear sign that the liquefied gas cylinder is empty.
- Tightness control by methods of pressure gauge
- The pressure gauge located on the inlet side of the pressure regulator shows the pressure applied to the inlet of the valve (cylinder pressure). The pressure gauge is used in such systems for easy tightness control.
- Every time you change the cylinder, you must check the entire LPG system for leaks. Instructions for the leak test can be found in the installation and operating instructions or on the yellow trailer on the pressure regulator.
To check the quantity of gas, fix the IGT gas safety device onto the cylinder, its rubber valve gets tightly attached to the opening and the needle in the gauge starts moving and when the needle stops at the point indicates the level of the gas present in it.
Once the gas regulator is fixed and the needle stands still. Watch it for 5 minutes. If the needle starts moving without getting attached to the stove, it will indicate that there is some leakage in the pipe. Remove the regulator and replace the cylinder to prevent any unforeseen accident
